Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the Philippines are increasingly relying on digital solutions — beyond just connectivity — to transform their business. And leading Philippine broadband and technology solutions provider Converge ICT Solutions Inc. intends to be their partner in this journey.
Dindo Marzan, Converge SVP and Head of SME Group, speaking at the ATxEnterprise 2026 Conference notes that MSMEs’ needs are becoming more sophisticated and more dependent on digital platforms and tools. The ATxEnterprise 2026 Conference is part of Asia Tech X Singapore (ATxSG), the region’s flagship technology ecosystem event.
“The trend we’ve been seeing is that fiber internet connection is no longer enough for them. Now, because of cloud-based solutions, having their operational and productivity platforms online is a must. These smaller players are also looking for better tools in terms of customer management. They’ve been asking for these, and what’s great is all these run on the fiber connectivity which we already provide,” noted Marzan.
He said that the internet as the avenue for social media promotion and as the sales platform (e-commerce) is now just the minimum that MSMEs look for. “MSMEs now expect data analytics and online sales operations,” he stressed.
All these, said Marzan, coincides with the evolution of Converge from telco to techco, going beyond offering connectivity to MSMEs to more diversified digital solutions.
Converge, apart from partnering with third party providers for specialized solutions (such as the PapaPay HR Workplace tool), is also looking at various add-on services. For example, Converge has showcased a point-of-sale (POS) technology developed by its software development arm akin to a fully digitalized cash register.
Converge has built a reputation for being a first mover in innovative technology and product offerings. It is the first and only technology company to deploy end-to-end pure fiber broadband nationwide. It also proved the first to advance its metro backbone DWDM technology from 400G to 800G. In 2023, it also pioneered fiber internet in prepaid format to cater to lower-middle to lower income sectors with Surf2Sawa. As artificial intelligence harnesses more and more data, Converge is now moving on to push for data sovereignty with cloud-based services anchored on the Converge Cloud.
