Converge partners with DTI and LGUs in Bicol for Diskwento CaravanBy: Converge Admin | 06 Sep 2021
Converge ICT Solutions Inc., has recently partnered with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and the LGUs in the towns of Camarines Norte and Camarines Sur, by providing free fiber-powered internet and tents at the venues of the Diskwento Caravan.
Despite the pandemic, DTI and the local government units (LGUs) continue to conduct initiatives such as this to provide accessibility and affordability of goods and other low-cost products to the consuming public in the Bicol region. The DTI Diskwento Caravan ensures that the basic necessities are priced in accordance with or lower than the suggested retail prices. This initiative also provides an avenue for various MSME manufacturers of commodities, such as fresh vegetables, bread, condiments, rice, and canned food, to sell their products and offer special discounts for consumers.

With Converge powering up these sites with fiber broadband connection, organizers, MSME entrepreneurs and customers are given internet speeds of up to 800 Mbps with the Converge Fiber Xtreme.
“We are happy to partner with DTI and the local government units of Bicol to provide fast and efficient Wi-Fi connectivity to the venues of the Diskwento Caravan,” said Jesus C. Romero, Converge Chief Operations Officer. “This way we can do our part in helping and aiding our Kababayans in Bicol, especially in this time of pandemic.”
The Converge booth is also present in the Diskwento Caravan to offer customers freebies and fast applications when they sign up on the day of the event.
The first DTI Diskwento Caravan in the province of Bicol was launched last August 6 in the town of Talisay, followed by the town of Vinzons, Camarines Norte on August 20. On-going and upcoming schedules of the Diskwento Caravan are in Pili, Camarines Sur from August 24 to 25, Buhi, Camarines Sur from August 26 to 27 and Labo, Camarines Norte on September 3.
