Converge opens Bicol regional headquarters, new business center in Legazpi City

Leading fiber broadband provider Converge ICT Solutions Inc. (PSE: CNVRG) on Tuesday has established its regional headquarters for the Bicol region in Legazpi City and opened a new business center in the city to bring its services closer to its customers in the southern Luzon region.

The day’s festivities began with a Converge motorcade – featuring the company’s mascot, Conrad – traversing all the major roads of the city. Meanwhile, arriving guests at the business center in 312 Penaranda Extension, Barangay Bonot, Legazpi City were treated to a festive celebration of Bicolano culture, with a troupe of Ibalong dancers welcoming them at the entrance. Filipino delicacies as well as the homegrown brand, First Colonial sili ice cream were served to guests and VIPs.

“Converge is more than ready to give the best fiber broadband service to the unserved and underserved areas in Bicol. Now we’re ready to reach smaller municipalities and towns, with our base here in Legazpi and our Metroworks sister company in the same facility,” said Reden Alterado, Converge Regional General Manager for Southern Luzon.

The inauguration of the fifth Converge business center in the region marks the company’s stronger commitment to the Bicol region. Converge aims to cover more than half of the addressable households in the region by year-end. Earlier, it established business centers in the cities of Naga, Daet, Iriga, and Sorsogon as demand for high-speed broadband continued to pick up.

Every Converge business center offers sales, payment, and after-sales services, plus a selfservice payment kiosk to limit contact. The regional headquarters will not only be for Converge but for its infrastructure subsidiary, Metroworks, which oversees repair and installation of the fiber lines. This shared facility will ensure quicker coordination to address network issues.

“It is very important for players in this enterprise, especially with today’s digital world, to have Bicol as one their primary markets. There is room for healthy competition in this area. Converge made the right choice in choosing Legazpi City as your business hub in Bicol,” said Vice Governor Atty. Edcel “Grex” Lagman, during the launch program.

Majority of the Converge network in Bicol has been put underground, given the propensity of typhoons visiting the region. Converge has three cable landing stations in Bicol, and four redundancy loops are designed in the network’s layout, ensuring network resilience.

For Bicol subscribers, Converge has put in place a dedicated Customer Support hotline at mobile number 0922-9994636.
