Converge hailed as the Broadband Telecom Company of the Year at the Asian Telecom Awards 2022By: Converge Admin | 30 May 2022
Leading fiber broadband provider Converge ICT Solutions, Inc. (PSE:CNVRG) was proclaimed Broadband Telecom Company of the Year in the Philippines at the Asian Telecom Awards 2022 for the remarkable achievements and initiatives it has made in the preceding year.
In an interview with Simon Hyatt, contributing editor of the Asian Business Review magazine, CEO and Co-Founder of Converge Dennis Anthony Uy accepted the prestigious award with a word of gratitude.
“We are so thankful to be recognized in this manner,” Mr. Uy shared. “This award is a great validation of our goal to connect the underserved and unserved areas in the country, and we will continue on to reach more Filipinos and give them world class broadband connectivity. This is our lifelong promise and mission.”
The Asian Telecom Awards 2022 honored firms who were able to overcome significant market obstacles while providing their clients with award-winning, relevant products and services. The awards program, which began in 2003 with Asian Mobile News, aims to honor premier telco companies that have pioneered ground-breaking products and solutions in the preceding year.
As one of Asia’s leading telecommunication companies, Converge continues to break barriers as it claims its rightful spot as forerunner of the Philippine broadband internet industry, a sector once dominated by only two players.
The company’s rapid growth took shape at the height of the pandemic as it answered to consumers’ increased demand for high-speed internet connection for remote work, online education, and entertainment during a time of community quarantines targeted at halting the spread of COVID-19.
“Connectivity is a lifeline for many people and businesses. Thus, having fast, reliable access should not just be a privilege of a few, but should be a right of every Filipino, regardless of economic standing,” added Mr. Uy.
Converge has since made various efforts to improve the quality of the Filipino’s digital experience in pursuit of its goal to serve the underserved and unserved areas of the country. Such efforts include the completion of the national digital highway as well as further investments in subsea cable systems aimed at increasing international capacity.
As the country’s only pure end-to-end fiber broadband provider, Converge has earned various recognition from local and international institutions alike amid its commitment to improve Filipinos’ connectivity.
Recently, the company was also named the Outstanding Wireline and/or Wireless Company during the Pacific Telecommunications Council Awards 2022 and was also given the Global Excellence Award by the International Chamber of Commerce Philippines specifically awarded to Mr. Uy for leading the “fiber revolution” in the country.
