Learn MoreConverge is taking strides toward promoting mental health as it celebrates National Mental Health Month with initiatives that help employees foster long-term mental clarity and emotional strength.
Last October 9, Converge hosted a webinar, titled Be Kind to Your Mind with licensed Psychometrician, and Yoga and Meditation teacher Patricia Kimberly Dee Chua who shared about strengthening mental health through self-care, compassion, and stress management.
To achieve better mental well-being, employees were encouraged to practice mindfulness, which means being present in every moment, especially when doing basic activities such as eating, breathing, and walking.
Chua also urged the participants to reach out to their friends, families, and the right professionals, when experiencing mental health issues.
Aside from the webinar, the company also participated in a mental health first aid training, where leaders from different departments learned about evidence-based interventions to support people who have developing, or are experiencing, mental health crises.
Several leaders from the Converge Medical Team, People and Culture Strategic Business Partnering Team, and the Labor Management Council took part in the training last October 12 at St. Paul University in Quezon City.
The program authorizes the attendees to be Mental Health First Responders (MHFR) who can extend support to those who are going through a difficult time in a global crisis, natural calamity, or in various emotional support programs.
The participants received certificates and MHFR e-badge after completing the program.
“At Converge, we say that we take care of our own. And we do that by providing the right avenues for our employees to maintain a balanced mental and emotional state, treating it equally important as their physical health,” said Converge Employee Health and Wellness Manager Rio Laine Bringuelo.
“Mental health is key to our well-being, and we, in the Health and Wellness Team, are dedicated to ensuring that Converge is a space where employees’ mental wellness is prioritized,” she added.
Other mental health activities were also conducted for the remaining days of the month, such as a special webinar for leaders titled ‘Nurturing the Soul Behind the Role’ last October 15 and a Laughter Yoga and Sound Meditation the next day.
Every Friday, mental health reminders were also sent via email, containing quick and easy strategies for everyone to feel more balanced and centered despite stress.
